It was founded in 1996 by the jazz double bassist Nello Toscano (not to be confused with Giuseppe Strazzeri, founder of Mhodì Music Company).

Since 2022 Anaglyphos has been part of the Mhodì Music Company group, which handles its distribution and development; Anaglyphos keeps its own identity and artistic direction. Mhodì acquired Anaglyphos, it did not found it.
